"I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list"
Each week, I’ll highlight a location, hotel, or activity that’s on my bucket list. Can’t wait to cross them off!
I’m not what you would call a pet person. Don’t hate. I like animals and I respect that some of you treat your dogs like children. I’ll even attend a pet birthday party and buy them a gift. But I’m probably not getting a pet anytime soon.
Unless it’s a giraffe.
Giraffe Manor looks like a dreamy European villa in the heart of Tuscany, but it’s actually set on 12 acres of land in Langata, a suburb of Nairobi. The hotel’s resident Rothschild giraffe is a welcome guest and the main reason I’m dying to visit.
You can literally eat blueberry pancakes and drink a café au lait with a giraffe. Okay, so they’re really poking their long gorgeous neck through a window and batting their modelesque eyelashes in search of treats, but I’m fine with that. I consider it dining together.
Giraffes are striking, elegant creatures that you don’t just want to pet. You want to invite them in to hang and ask them their beauty tricks, like you’re lusting over Gigi Hadid on a Chanel runway.
With only 10 rooms, it appears to be an intimate experience with just a few other humans and a bunch of attractive giraffes.
Giraffe Manor is a part of The Safari Collection, which is a group of luxury boutique camps and lodges in Kenya. So it’s the perfect couple night add on to a full Kenya experience.
